I had the privilege of meeting and working with Sandy in 2016, and soon after we became friends. I've been hearing and reading how she touched the lives of so many people, and I'm honestly not surprised.
Sandy Maloney was someone who believed in me when nearly nobody, including myself, did. She was a boundless source of encouragement and support. Sandy would keep in constant contact with me making sure I was happy and healthy through some of the darkest times of my life. She graciously and enthusiastically shared her vast knowledge with those willing to learn. She loved educating the next generations of techs, and forming bonds with them. She encouraged you to step outside your comfort zone. I owe a lot of my inner-peace and strength to Sandy.
I'll never forget all the laughs we've shared over the years. You'll be missed profoundly. Rest, my friend, until we meet again.

Sandy brought fun and joy into every rehearsal and every service at St. Joe's. She cared for everyone so authentically and openly, and I feel lucky to be someone who spent time and shared experiences with her.
I'm so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy to everyone close to her - I wish you every moment of peace as you cross into this new chapter.

I proudly worked with Sandy many years ago in the Rome Hospital laboratory. She was a very dedicated medical Technologist. Although I have lost touch with her over the years, I remember her as a delightful person to be with and to work with. God bless her and her family.

Sandy was my sister-in-law but I didn't really know her as well as I would have wanted to. Sandy lived in New York and I live in California. The few times that I was in her presence, my main thoughts and feelings were ones of happiness and joy - she exuded those qualities and had a wonderful laugh. She was an extremely positive person with a big heart that was easy to detect in just being with her a few times. I know that her biggest loves were Joe and Gavin - and the feelings from them to her were the same - devoted, working so hard even while not always in the best health herself.....she was a warrior from all that Joe has shared for her immediate and extended family.
May she rest in the arms of Mary and Jesus.

My name is christine Klauck. I met Sandy in Chicago, we were sitting outside our hotel room because we were hot. We got to talking about where we were from. She said Rome NY and I was shocked because I live there too. My husband was in the USAF stationed at Griffiss we talked for hours , compared health issues and she called me her medical twin. We also met for lunch a few times when I had my cabin in Redfield, we ate at a Chinese restaurant in a plaza. lol. My grandson went with us one time and she enjoyed meeting him. He is on the spectrum. And said to her. “ my mom can’t eat Chinese food because she is allergic to cats. I almost wet my pants. But Sandy laughed so hard and told him. I’m glad you’re not or we would have to go somewhere else.
I will miss her we were the kinda friend that chatted on FB or text by phone. Christmas and holidays. Ect but no matter how much time went by when we got back together it was as if there was never any time away. I’m sorry for your loss of a beautiful human being that made this world so much better.

I’ve known Sandy, Joe and Gavin for 35 years. Sandy was the alto section leader in my St. Joseph’s choir for 25 years. We probably sang 55 concerts together! 25 Christmas Eves, 25 Christmases,
25 Holy weeks, 25 Easter’s, 25 Pentecost's…………. She was a faithful chorister and a joy to be around in choir. A great leader and friend. She toured Ireland with the choir in 2008 with Joe and Gavin in tow. We had a blast!
As we got to know each other over the years, it was obvious our upbringings were so similar. I think that’s why we hit it off immediately.
I never knew a harder worker. She put in more 16 hour days at both her jobs that anyone would care to count. She just never wanted to let anyone down.
We spent many happy hours at her camp in Sylvan beach fishing, at picnics and ofcourse playing pitch! I don’t think any of us can imagine camp without her.
Her life was her family! Joe and Gavin, her siblings, her extended family, her coworkers and friends………were all her life. All she talked about was them! Sandy and I both have twin siblings. She was very proud of her twin Randy, and they had a special bond only twins have and can understand.
Most important of all, Sandy believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and spent a good part of her life bringing him honor, glory and praise. She is in his very presence as I write this. She is alive in Christ!
That promise, that hope is what will get her loved ones thru this time of loss and grief. Knowing we will all be together again is what she would want us to hold on to. That and the countless memories she made with family, friends coworkers and loved ones.
Sandy- we love you and can’t thank you enough for always putting others first, for your tireless unmatched work ethic, for your beautiful voice, your down to earth personality and the immeasurable love you shared with all of us.
Until we meet again in Heaven.
Scott

Sandra received success and recognition as a supervising medical technologist. I also believe Sandy's happiness was fortified by her love for her son, Gavin, by the steadfast devotion of her loving husband, Joey, and by the everlasting support from her sister, Patty. Sandra enamored many friends and enjoyed being the "leader of the pack". As her eldest cousin (by 20+years) and also a med tech, I greatly lament her untimely passing on. My continuing prayers are for Joe, Gavin, Patty, Jeff, Randy, Pietra and all our family and friends. Sadly subscribed, S. Jane Stephan xxoo
