I grew up on Albrecht Road in Westmoreland right down the road from the Matt family. Even though it’s been several decades since I moved away, there has never been a time when Julie’s name has been mentioned and it hasn’t made me smile. She was the kindest of moms to us neighborhood kids. She seemed to be so silly and full of joy. She was the person I went to when I lost my glasses jumping in the hay in the Ryan’s barn. She called my mom and dad to tell them for me so I wouldn’t have to be so afraid about breaking the news to them. I’ve never forgotten her silly, loving spirit and I will continue to smile every time I remember her. My condolences to. Greg, Chris, Mike, Brenda, Brian, and Mary and to her entire extended family. Julie was like a 2nd Mom, growing up on Albrecht Road as next-door neighbors. Always great memories with all the Matts! She was the best cook and mother to her kids. I'd see her over the years. It was always great to see her! I pray for all her family during this time!

Julie was always so nice to me. My youngest memories ever are at the Matt's house. I was so small that Brenda and I could stand up in the back seat of the car as Julie drove. She would buy us candy, of course. One day I walked to their house to play and Brenda and Brian and Mary were napping. Instead of sending me home, Julie invited me in, gave me some cookies, and told me I could wait for them to wake up. One of the kindest people I have ever known. So sorry for your loss.
