Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Judith?
A: Judy’s courage never ceased to amaze me. When I was very young I was scared of everything. Even what was in my Chinese pork fried rice. Judy would tease me how I would pick up every piece of food looking at was underneath lol. One courageous move I will never forget is she spent 9 months on the Coast of Maine. She found a beautiful Victorian home right on the water. Even opened a little shop in the local Village. She was an inspiration to me to go after my dreams. She will be cherished, appreciated, loved, and missed.

The Storyteller. I hung on every word of Aunt Judy’s lips as she told us stories. A memory from her childhood or something from a favorite book, she made everything fun and exciting.
Her vast knowledge and recollection of useless information made her everyone’s top pick for teaming up at trivia night.
In good times and in not so good times she never stopped smiling. She’d say, “ya gotta put your big pants on!” Aunt Judy’s love of life was infectious. She saw the beauty in everything and was happy to share it. Our lives are better for it.
Like the the song says:
We'll meet again
Don't know where, don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
Keep smiling through
Just like you always do
'Til the blue skies drive the dark clouds far away
With all my love,
Angela

What I’ll remember most about Judy was her generosity and warmth. She always made me feel welcomed in her beautiful home. I remember her in those amazing caftans painting in the bright third floor studio space. I still have one of her caftans (a J Peterman) that she passed along. I wear it often and think of her.
In many ways her house was a refuge for me during those turbulent adolescent years. I remember always wanting to stay in the “yellow” bedroom that felt so peaceful and cozy.
Judy probably didn’t know how grateful I was to her and Tabitha for all they did for me back in those days. I was lucky to know her, she will be missed.

These are all of the pictures I could find even though I’m sure I have more. I included the one of Gabby and Jake because Judy loved Jake so much. We had our ups and downs but created beautiful memories during those ups. She loved Gabby as if she were her own and I will always be thankful for that and she gave me another sister in Tabitha that I will cherish forever.
I will never forget taking the train to NYC the first time. She made sure we did everything. We stayed at the best hotel right in the middle of everything, went to see a broadway show, jumped on the piano at FAO Schwarz and took a carriage ride through Central Park.
She had the best vibrant blue eyes, infectious laugh and tried to see the beauty in everything. She loved to have parties, cook and dance and she was good at it! I will never look at a lilac again without thinking of her. ❤️

I will always be grateful for the times I shared with Bubby. She instilled kindness in me, she was funny, she was witty, she was a good dancer, she was extremely intelligent, she was creative and artistic and so so talented and I’d like to think she gave me a lot of those things as well.
I’ll cherish our relationship forever. I know I wouldn’t be who I am without her. I’ll miss her everyday, I tell her everyday, “I’ll be loving you always Bubby” and I can only hope she can hear me.
Until we meet again.

When I remember Judy, I think of her generosity. She opened up a world of adventures to me in bringing me on family outings, and even a big vacation to Florida. It was the first time I was on a plane, saw the ocean, and first time at Disney. She also paid for my ticket on a school trip to see Phantom of the Opera when my family couldn’t afford it. That trip changed my life, and solidified my desire to pursue music as a career. Her door was always open to me, her arms were always ready for a hug, and she was always ready to have a great conversation. I will forever be grateful this amazing woman touched my life.

I was around 5 years old your mom was going to a dance at OHS. The Bond family had just moved back from LA. So she and her date Donny Allen stopped by our home to have some photos taken. Well, Judy had on this great dress, the skirt was strips of black then strips of white one after another, her makeup was perfect and hair gorgeous. Well this 5 year old girl, me, was so impressed. I remember thinking Oh She is the cool cousin.

This is one of my mom's favorite poems.
When I Am Old.
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me,
And I shall spend my pension
on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals,
and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired,
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells,
And run my stick along the public railings,
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens,
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat,
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go,
Or only bread and pickle for a week,
And hoard pens and pencils and beer mats
and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry,
And pay our rent and not swear in the street,
And set a good example for the children.
We will have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me
are not too shocked and surprised,
When suddenly I am old
and start to wear purple!
Jenny Joseph When I am old .. I shall wear purple!

"Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky
With one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea
Circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate
Driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow"

My sister Judy was one of my best friends throughout my life. She taught me more than I could explain in this tribute. She inspired me and gave me humor and joy. She loved music. Bob Dylan, Dan Fogelberg, Harry Chapin, anything before 1970! One of her favorite songs was “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn. We enjoyed many adventures and road trips always singing songs. Many duets! Playing initials! We played 100’s of games of Scrabble and Trivia Pursuit. She had to get two pies to our one. So smart. Jeopardy champion smart. She turned me onto Dean Koontz and Kurt Vonnegut. I will miss her terribly. We’ll Meet Again” sweet sister!❤️ John
