Obituary of Clifton C. Hummel

Clifton C. “Big Kippy” Hummel, Sr., 96, of Camden, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Born in Vienna, NY, on October 15, 1926, he was a son of the late Charles and Maude (McNeil) Hummel. On September 18, 1948, he was united in marriage to Norma Fox. She passed away July 4, 2001.

Clifton proudly served in the United States Army during World War II in 1946-47 as part of the Europe-African-Middle Eastern Campaign.

He loved to play guitar and could be seen riding his scooter all over town.

Clifton is survived by three daughters, Noreen Taubert (David), Penny Peek (Tom) and Ginger Hummel; two sons, Todd Hummel (Teresa) and Ted Hummel (Connie); a brother, Charles Hummel; seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Wilson; a son, Clifton Hummel, Jr.; two sisters, Ruby Collins and Beatrice Pear; and two brothers, Fred and Howard Hummel.

Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, NY 13316, on Friday, January 27^th from 4-6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Point Rock Cemetery.
