Obituary of Christine P. Reid

Christine P. Reid, 68, of Oriskany, NY, passed away peacefully with her loving husband and son by her side on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Born in Rochester, NY, on  November 7, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Arlene (Hitzke) Snell. She was a graduate of Monroe High School and on May 10, 1980, she was united in marriage to William  Reid, Jr.

Christine had a love for birds and birdwatching. She was a member of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the National Audubon Society and the National Wildlife Association. She was also an avid gardener and had a green thumb.

Christine was happiest spending time with beloved family. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor and laughter.

Surviving besides her loving husband of 42 years, William, is a son and daughter-in-law, Zachary and Kristina Reid; two sisters, Cathy Charland (Paul) and Carla Snell; two brothers, Charles Snell ( Betty) and Cory Snell; three precious grandchildren, Connor, Evelyn and Liam; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4^th at 6:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440. Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery in Rochester, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 4-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Christine’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
