Obituary of Matthew L. Oshel

Matthew L Oshel, 45, of Utica and formerly of Rome, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022. He was a loving son to Karen Converse Oshel and Victor Oshel. He was a proud father to the most caring, talented and amazing children, Jaden Oshel and Sophie Rose Anderson. He was a loving brother, confidant and best friend to his sisters, Naomi Oshel and Magda Oshel. He was Uncle Traveling Matt to Myles Perks, Page Oshel, Austin Perks and Ryken Oshel; great-uncle to Isaac Perks and Alina Watts. . He was always there to throw a football, school them in hoops or give uncle advice. He was an adored nephew to his many aunts and uncles

Matt was a shining light and musician who sang and played guitar to the delight of so many.

Matt was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and an amazing athlete. He had an infectious smile, such a positive attitude and so much love for his family and friends. He forever touched those who knew him.
