Matthew dragged me on stage to sing with him at an open mic night - he was always one who did and not just talked about wanting to do. He was very encouraging and what a genuine soul! I could listen to him play all night long.

My condolences to the Oshel family during this tough time. I met Matt in 99 when we both worked at Harrah's casino in New Orleans. My car had stalled in a intersection and he was there to help me push it to the parking lot. We became friends after that and him and I shared a love for making music as I am a drummer/singer. A large group of us Harrah's employees did everything together and Matt was always the brightest shining star of the group. He will be missed terribly by us all. This picture of us was taken one morning after a fun night where we ended up on the lakefront. Me with my conga and he with his acoustic guitar. One of my most cherished moments I had with him. Rest in peace my dear friend. I love you.
