Obituary:Olga J. Tyczinski, 84, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008, in Rome Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side She was born on May 23,1923, in Rome, the daughter of William and Eva Jasinikowski Tymn. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On June 19, 1943, she was united in marriage with Chester M. Tyczinski. He passed away on November 21, 1996.
She was a member of St. Michael's Ukranian Church in Rome.
Olga was very creative and enjoyed basket weaving, crocheting, sewing, knitting, baking, cooking, and she was an avid photographer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three daughters, Elaine (Larry) Wheat, Whitesboro, Linda (Fred) Wheat, Chillicothe, OH, and Susan Tyczinski (Ellie Zimet), Trumansburg; a sister, Eugenia Maine, Utica; a daughter-in-law, Alicja Tyczinski, Rome; five grandchildren, John (Jennifer), Marcia, Fred, Christine, and Elizabeth; and three great-grandchildren, Elijah, John, Jr., and Freddie, Jr. She also left behind many life-long friends. Olga was predeceased by a son, William, and a sister, Ann Tymophy.
Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Monday, March 17, 2008, at 9:15 AM and at St. Michael's Urkanian Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and Paraastos at 3:30 PM.
