Name: Arlene R. Trombley Date of Death: Saturday, March 01, 2008 Residence: Rome, NY Age: 81 Obituary:Arlene R. Trombley, 81, of Rome, died March 1, 2008 at home after a long illness. She was born March 10, 1926, in Rome, the daughter of Marcus and Inez Carter Vrooman. She was educated in Rome schools. On June 13, 1959, she married Ralph Trombley in Rome. He died January 16, 1999. Arlene worked for several years at Oneida County Hospital before retiring from the Rome Developmental Center. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and she was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Arlene is survived by several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Glenn and Dawn LaSalle-Cleveland, Rome, with whom she resided, and Shelly Woodhouse, Texas; many great nieces and nephews, including two special great nieces, Kimberly and John Rogers, and Kelly LaSalle Abel, all of Rome; several cherished great-great nieces and nephews; and many, many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Armeta Standen and Delores Douglas, and two brothers, Kenneth and Maynard Vrooman. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 8pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. A spring interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
