Underwood, 82, of Rome, died February 20, 2008, in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness with her loving family by her side. She was born April 7, 1925, in Chateaugay, NY, the daughter of Ulysses and Mary Rivers Decker. She was educated in Chateaugay schools. On May 1, 1941, she married Charles E. Underwood, Sr. in Chateaugay. He died August 4, 2000. Beulah worked for 27 years at the Marcy Psychiatric Center, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Taberg. Mrs. Underwood is survived by four daughters and a son-in-law, Diane Marshall, Taberg, Sandra Walker, Taberg, and Choy and Roger Marsh, Rome, and Cindy Coffin, Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles "Sonny" and Jeannie Underwood, Jr., Florence; several brothers and sisters; twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Scott. Private funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Lee State Road Cemetery in the spring. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
