She was born September 9, 1916 in Gloversville the daughter of William and Etta Mae Smith Oare. Mrs. Scott was a graduate of Gloversville schools. On September 1, 1947 she married Charles B. Scott in Caanan, Connecticut. He died December 12, 1978. Mrs. Scott was employed by Montgomery Co. D.S.S. retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a former member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Carole and Louis Semo, Taberg; Leah Wade, Akron, Ohio; Meredith and Robert Lubking, Charlestown, Maryland; one son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Joan Scott, Rome; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George Street, Rome Saturday 11:00A.M. Interment will be held in the spring at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, New York. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made in Alice's memory to the St. Johnsville Volunteer Ambulance Corp, 14 Washington Street, St. Johnsville, NY 13452.
