He was born September 1, 1941, in Rome, the son of Fred A. and Ella Martin Lemmon. He was educated in Rome schools. Ed worked at Revere Copper Products, Inc., for several years, retiring in 2004. He previously served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW, Fort Stanwix Men's Club, and Frank J. Steczko Post, and the Rome, Taberg and Lee Center American Legions. Ed is survived by his mother, Ella; longtime girlfriend, Stella DePan, with whom he resided; a daughter, Lauri Megerell, Utica; two sons, Edward Jr., and his girlfriend, Paula Enslin, Lee Center, and Fred, Rome; two brothers and a daughter-in-law, Fred (Jimmy) Lemmon, Rome and Neal and Peggy Lemmon, Anniston, AL; four step-children, Laura (Joseph) Tarantino, Florida, Tracy (Nick) Marji, Oneida, Michael Tennant, Rome, and Lisa Tennant, Rome; seventeen grandchildren, and one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Greg Ellinger, Carmen Stagliano, Gus Millson, and Dick Petroski. He was predeceased by a son, Robert R. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 11am at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Lee Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
