George St., Rome, died on July 30, 2007, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, following a brief illness. He was born on September 12, 1920, in Oswego, the son of John and Leontine Thompson DesChambeau. He attended St. Aloysius Academy. On June 5, 1943, Joe married A. Marie Niles at St. Paul's Church in Oswego. She died on July 24, 1987. He was employed by Revere Copper and Brass Products, retiring in 1985. Joe was previously employed at General Cable Corporation. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, European Theatre. He was a member of St. Peter's Church and the Henry P. Smith Post American Legion. Surviving are his two sons, Joseph DesChambeau, Jr., and John DesChambeau, both of Rome; two grandchildren, Joanne and John; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Gorski; and four brothers, Emory, Louis, Lawrence, and Samuel DesChambeau. Services: Funeral services will be held at St. Peter's Church on Friday, August 3, 2007, at 10:30 AM. Interment St. Peter's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Contribution's may be made in Joe's memory to the St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
