Maskell, 61, of Rome, passed away quietly at home with his loving family by his side after a long illness. He was born November 25, 1945, in Rome, and raised by Ralph and Clara Underwood. He was educated in Rome schools. Donald's family would like to thank their "angels" from Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., especially Ann Amato, and his loving daughter who never left his side. Donald is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Earl Howard, Rome; son, Donald D. Maskell, Jr., Rome; two sisters, Annie Pratt, Rome, and Caroline Izzo, Rome; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Christine Maskell, Rome; seven grandchildren, Earl, Patrick, Amber, Angel, Stephanie, Donnie, and Zach; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Christopher; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2pm at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome. Interment will take place in Lee State Road Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12-2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald' s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.
