Obituary of Barry B. Stametz

Barry B. Stametz, 73, of Westernville, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born in Bethel, PA, on November 6, 1950, a son of the late Loyn and Lizzie (Fritchey) Stametz. He was a 1969 graduate of Phillipsburg (NJ) High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1970. He served in  Vietnam War and Honorably Discharged in 1974 at Griffiss Air Force Base.

Barry worked for 15 years at Rome Cable Corporation and 12 years at Bonide in Oriskany.

He was a member of the NRA and Rome VFW. His hobbies included gardening, coin collecting and reading history and science texts. He enjoyed restoring muscle cars and listening to music.  

Barry is survived by a daughter, Alicia Stametz; two sons, Bruce Stametz (Tonya) and Michael Stametz (Lisa); the mother of his children, Shirley Caldwell (Robert); several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Sweetie.
