Obituary of Theresa Coppola

Theresa Coppola, 90, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Bethany Gardens. She was born in Rome on October 25, 1933, a daughter of Walter and Mary (Centore) Manfrates. On May 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to George M. Coppola, Sr. He passed away May 6, 2003.

Theresa started her working career as a nurse’s aide for 20 years at Oneida County Hospital and Rose Hospital. She later went to beauty school and opened Magic Touch Hair Salon, which she owned and operated for another 20 years.

Theresa loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling to various casinos to play bingo and slot machines.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana Rodriguez and Georgianna Robinson; her son, George Coppola, Jr. (Colleen); sister, Barbara Bennett; brother-in-law, Jim Coppola (Rita); five grandchildren, Jennifer Rodriguez (Chris), Marshall Lamphier (Kyrie), Elizabeth Vereen (Mike), Matthew Coppola and Roseanne Coppola; eight great-grandchildren, Maresa, Carissa, Xara, Sebastian, Lily, Luciana, Santino and Gage; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Elizabeth Nash and Dolores Burke.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14^th at 11:00 a.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday, May 13^th, from 4-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Theresa’s memory to the Bethany Gardens Activities BINGO Fund.
