Obituary of Roger C. Herb

Roger C. Herb, 86, of Camden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28. 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born in Tupper Lake on September 23, 1937, a son of the late Joseph and Rita (Gauthier) Herb. On December 31, 1982, he was united in marriage to Gail Gardner.

Roger was a 60-year member of the Local 545 International Union of Operating Engineers and worked all over New York State. He was a 32^nd Degree Mason and was a proud and active member of the clown unit of the Shriner’s.

Roger’s favorite pastime was being out hunting or fishing with his sons. Together with his wife, Gail, he traveled all over discovering covered bridges. He was truly a social butterfly, the man loved to talk!

Surviving besides his loving wife, Gail, is a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Keith Galton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Scott and Julie Herb and David Herb; a stepdaughter, Michelle Pratt (Ed); his sister, Jolie Smith (Warren); two brothers, Brian Herb (Linda) and Bruce Herb (Annie); a sister-in-law, Roberta Herb; six grandchildren, Carley Filosi (Mike), Mark Merrell (Andrea), Eric Galton (Rebecca), Emily Galton, and Layna and Kyle Pratt; five great-grandchildren, Jett, Elianna, Jovi, Ivey and Caiden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Beverly Lawless (Jim); and a brother, Craig Herb.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
