Obituary of Joseph S. Bochnak
Joseph S. Bochnak, 99, of Rome, passed away peacefully at the Abraham House of Rome on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Born in Rome on February 3, 1925, he was a son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Pieszczock) Bochnak. He was a 1942 graduate of Rome Free Academy and 1949 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology.
On May 29, 1943, Joe was drafted in the United States Army. He was sent overseas at the height of World War II and became a driver in General MacArthur’s headquarters in Australia and New Guinea.
Joe was employed in the printing industry for many years and retired from Utica Typesetting Company in 1985.
Joe was an active member of All Saints Polish National Catholic Church and served as recording secretary for many years. He and his brother, Chester, were caretakers of the parish cemetery for several years.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. Interment will take place in All Saints Polish National Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Abraham House of Rome, 417 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.
