Obituary of Edward Duhart
Ed Duhart was born to Rosie and Carl Duhart, in Vienna Georgia, 2/13/38.
When Ed was a young man, he was a very hard worker. He worked hard labor at a farm picking beans. He also worked stocking at a warehouse. He always looked out for his nine siblings, by walking with them to the store, or cutting their hair. He was an endearing family man always helping. He had many friends in Utica, around the local barber shop. Ed liked to look dapper.
He came to the Mexico St. IRA In September of 1994, where he continued to be a social and helpful person. He made many friends that cared dearly about him. One special friend he would ask for would be Mr. Jordan. ED would often go out to the parking lot and greet visitors as they pulled in the driveway, He liked to draw eagles and dinosaurs. He was encouraged to pursue his interest in "eagle birds" Going to the library and looking up books about eagles. Then he went to Barnes and Nobel and picked out books for himself. He had several statues and a couple of stuffed eagles that he enjoyed .
Ed was also a money man. He always kept his money safe. Ed would tell you "I got money". When he was assisted by staff in the community, he would never part with his money. Staff would need additional money, or a purchase just might not happen. Going to KFC was one of his favorite outings.
Ed's brother, Bill (or as Ed called him "Willie") Bryant and sister n law Gaytha stayed involved with in Ed's life and cared for him deeply. Both Bill and Gaytha sang praises of the staff who worked at the Mexico St. IRA, Ripley Drive (many they could name) and gave praise to the agency for assuring Ed received the best care.
He retired from Ripley drive, where he attended for 20+yrs. While there he enjoyed going on outings and working on projects. For Ed this was another place to socialize and make more friends.
Ed passed away on 4/23/24, with staff by his side. He will be greatly missed by many. Sore high with the eagles Ed. Services will be held graveside, in Utica, at Forest Hill Cemetery 4/30/24 @ 10am.
