Obituary of Mark A. Arbes

 

Mark A. Arbes, Sr. 70, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born in Rome on June 15, 1953, a son of the late William and Phyllis (Prosser) Arbes. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy.

 

Mark was a roofer most of his life and also worked for the NYS Department of Mental Health and held other various jobs. He like to spend time in his garden and fishing. He was a fan of the NY Yankees and NY Rangers.

 

Mark is survived by a daughter, Michelle Arbes; a son, Mark Arbes, Jr. and his longtime partner, Shiona Markham; seven brothers, John, Stephen, Bruce, Adrian, Douglas, Michael and David Arbes; four grandsons, Gavin, Darren, Ethan, and Evan; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-father, Stanley Sinieka; a sister, Cindy Savage; and his beloved dog, Teddy.

 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
