Obituary of Lawrence K. Murphy

Lawrence K. Murphy, 74, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica. He was born in Rome on September 4, 1949, a son of the late Kenneth and Francis (Berg) Murphy. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and served in the United States Air Force. On July 26, 1986, he was united in marriage to Ann Angell.

 

 Larry owned Murphy Construction for several years.

 

Surviving besides his loving wife, Ann, are two daughters, Heather Reynolds (Bruce) and Desiree Nemo (Robert); three sons, Wyatt Murphy (Begona), Daniel Murphy (Kim) and Shane Murphy; four sisters, Rose Smith, Patricia Viereck, Sara Young (Robert) and Carol Jo Poile (Wayne); a brother, Kenneth Murphy (Barb); step-children, Richard Kirk (Tanya) and Shelly Swinney (Mark); and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Ann Fox; and three brothers, Joey Lusby, Frank Lusby, and Richard Lusby.

 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
