Obituary of Yvonne M. Spencer
Yvonne M. Spencer, 91, of Camden, passed away on March 17, 2024 at Sunset Nursing Home in Boonville.
Vonnie was born on May 28, 1932, in New Bremen, the daughter of Deane and Helen (Kilburn) Wetmore. She was a 1949 graduate of Camden Central High School.
Vonnie married William Spencer in 1950. They were married for almost 56 years until his death in 2006. They loved their summers at Brown’s Campground and Brantingham Lake, and winters in Safety Harbor, Florida. Their home on Empey Ave. was a center of activity for their children, grandchildren and all their friends. Throughout the years, Vonnie and Bill traveled to and attended many activities from sporting events to graduations and weddings to support their family and friends.
Vonnie was known to many in Camden from her work around town, including more than a decade at Camden Elementary School, and her time as a dedicated volunteer at Clothing Connection. She will be remembered for her warmth and dedication to the happiness of others.
She leaves behind three children: Judy (Jim) Moore of Camden, Audrey (Peter) Spencer-Plumley of Sarasota, FL, and William (Analyn) Spencer of Williamstown. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Jesse (Jamie) Moore of Chestnut Hill, MA, Jake (Katharine) Moore of New Hampton, NH, Spencer (Vanessa) Plumley of Santa Teresa, NM, Jeb (Devanie) Moore of Natick, MA, Kassidee Plumley of Bradenton, FL, Kade (Karlee) Spencer of Redfield, Patricia Spencer of Williamstown, Xander Spencer of Williamstown and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held privately in the summer at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Clothing Connection or the Camden Area Food Pantry, 84 Main St., Camden, NY 13316.
