"Pat" Casterella, 53, of Rome, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Rome Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was born on February 5, 1954, in Rome, the daughter of Kenneth and Violet Wilson Underwood. She attended Rome Schools. On February 14, 1992, she married Dale Casterella in Rome. Pat was a nurse's aid at Rome Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1993 due to disability. She was previously employed by Oneida Molded Plastics and the Diemolding Company in Canastota. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a former member of the Rome Moose Club's Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving besides her husband, are two daughters , Deborah Dekin, Rome, and Dezaree Casterella, at home; two stepchildren, Michele and Richard Holeck, Rome, and Dale Casterella II, Cooper City, FL; eight grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and Theodore Murphy, Taberg; four brothers and three sister-in-law, Kenneth and Michele Underwood, Taberg, Glenn and Jeanne Underwood, Taberg, Timmy and Brenda Underwood, Indiana, and Jimmy Underwood, Rome; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was predeceased by her sister, Tammy Underwood. Pat's family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at Rome Hospital ICU for the wonderful care and compassion shown to her during her illness. Services: Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 25, 2007, at Lee State Road Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome.
