Obituary of William F. Tuttle

Wiliam F. Tuttle, 84, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. He was born in Rome on April 6, 1939. On May 12, 1962, he was united in marriage to Virginia Tonni, a blessed union of over 61 years.

Bill was a tractor trailer driver for 39 years, first for J.W. Wilhelmson in Rome  and later for Cumberland Transport Co. of Syracuse before retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church and the Rome Moose Club.

Surviving besides his loving wife, Virginia, is a daughter, Kimberly Roe (Tim); two sons, William Tuttle, Jr. (Heidi) and Paul Tuttle (Patricia); seven grandchildren, Chris Roe (Tricia), Mary Terry (Travis), Joshua Roe (Jessica), McKenzie Alford (Michael), Elizabeth Tuttle, Dominick Tuttle and Paul Tuttle, Jr.; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Tuttle and Charron Thomas; and three brothers, Donald, Richard and Robert Reed; and grandson, Ashton Roe.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday,  February 7th at 9:00 a.m., at St. Peter’s Church, 200 N. James St., Rome NY 13440. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.
