Obituary of Patricia A. Bryant
Patricia Ann Bryant, 73, of Rome, passed away on January 25, 2024, at Rome Health, after a long battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gallion, AL, on July 30, 1950, a daughter of the late Horace and Octavia (Robinson) Bryant. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and would frequently join her family for Mass at St. Peter’s Church. Her faith helped her navigate her way through her difficult illness.
Patricia worked at Stonehedge Nursing Home for several years before taking a job with the NYS Department of Corrections. She worked at the Mohawk Correctional Facility until her retirement.
When she retired, Patricia spent time enjoying the outdoors, feeding the birds, gardening, fishing and vacationing. She was also a “lucky” Bingo player and enjoyed watching football, spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Patricia was a spiritual, loving, caring and private person who loved her breakfast dates with Dawn and endless years of friendship with Maiva.
She is survived by a daughter, Melisha Bryant; son, Verryll Bryant (Sheri); six grandchildren, Devin, Nolan, Reece, Millie, Milandria and Kendo; one great-granddaughter, Naomi; two sisters, Christine Jones and Sadie Lomax; brother, Levie Bryant; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Jones and Eunice Hill.
Patricia’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on 2 East and ICU nurse Jenelle Garrett at Rome Health, for their professionalism, care and compassion.
