Obituary of Jack L. Krumbach
Jack L. Krumbach, 96, of Rome, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Rome Health, surrounded by his family. Born in Rome on July 8, 1927, he was a son of the late John and Katherine (Sharpe) Krumbach. He was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and on May 26, 1951, he was united in marriage to Ellen Winterton.
As World War II began roar, Jack answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Navy on July 27, 1944, as a member of the Seabees. He served until being honorably discharged on June 10, 1946.
After coming back to Rome following his military service, Jack went to work at Revere Copper and Brass Co., where he had a long career. When he retired, Jack and Ellen would winter at their home in Brooksville, FL.
He was a communicant at St. Paul’s Church and former member of the Henry P. Smith Post American Legion and the Brooksville Elks Lodge. Jack was very handy and loved a good DIY project. He had a green thumb and tended to a wonderful vegetable garden. He was an avid golfer and even made his own clubs.
Surviving besides his loving wife of 72 years, Ellen, are three daughters, Carol Macmanus (Joseph), Barbara Kane and Patricia Edmond (Russell); a son, Steven Krumbach (Teresa); nine cherished grandchildren, Christopher Macmanus (Megan), Christine Clark (Ian), Andrew Krumbach, Kathleen Krumbach, Nicole Krumbach (Jeffry), Thomas Triffo (Ashley), Kelsey Kane, Curtis Edmond (Courtney) and Eric Edmond (Irene); eleven precious great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a two granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth and Stephanie Krumbach; a sister, Virginia Burch; and a brother, Paul Krumbach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 1807 Bedford St.., Rome, NY 13440. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday prior to Mass from 10-11:00 a.m.
