Obituary of Martin J. Suleski

Martin J. Suleski, 67, of Ava, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Rome Health. Born in Rome on December 15, 1955, he was a son of the late Edward and Colleen (McSweeney) Suleski. He was a 1973 graduate of Rome Free Academy.

Martin was a carpenter for Bowers and Sons Hardwood Lumber in Lee Center for many years. He was known as an expert stair and staircase builder and his work is showcased throughout several local homes and throughout the Adirondacks.

Martin was in the Boy Scouts of America and reached the level of Eagle Scout. He loved to sit out in his yard on Mullen Hill and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Potocki; his brother, Thomas Suleski; and several cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 10^th, from 2-4:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, December 11^th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Martin’s memory to the Humane Society of Rome, 6247 Lamphear Rd., Rome NY 13440.
