Obituary of Thomas J. Mierek

Thomas J. Mierek, 72, of Westernville, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, just four days prior to his 73^rd birthday. Born in Utica on July 19, 1950, he was a son of the late Joseph and Kinga (Stolarczyk) Mierek. He was a 1969 graduate of Holland Patent High School.

Tommy and his late brother Carl owned and operated Sunnybrook Dairy Farm in Westernville. He was a member of Transfiguration Church and the Carmichael Hill Game Club. He loved to hunt and went on a great hunting trip to Colorado with family and friends. He had a passion for antique tractors, especially John Deere tractors.

He is survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Annette Waterman with whom he was currently living with, Chris and Maynard Anken with whom he lived the previous eight years, Maria and Joseph Fazekas,  Sr.; one brother and two sisters-in-law, George and Barbara Mierek, Sr. and Virginia Mierek; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Carl Mierek and Joseph Mierek, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Darrell Waterman, Sr.

Family and friends are invited to attend at graveside service on Friday, July 21^st at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rome. There are no calling hours. Contributions in Tommy’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
