Obituary of Stella G. Buda

Stella G. Buda, 96, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Born in Lee Center on January 13, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Caroline (Drelick) Geslicki. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and on May 13, 1950, she was united in marriage to Stanley Buda in Transfiguration Church. Together they shared a blessed union until his passing June 28, 1995.

Stella worked at Griffiss Air Force Base as a Transportation Monitor for 25 years. She was a member of Transfiguration Church.

Stella is survived by three great-nephews, Steven Nowicki, Kevin Nowicki (Julia) and Jason Nowicki (Melissa); two great-great-nephews, Cameron and Jackson; and a niece and nephew, Karen Merrill (Jim) and Mark Geslicki. She was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Frances and George “John” Nowicki; and a brother, Paul Geslicki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on  Friday, June 30th at 12:00p.m. at Transfiguration Church. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Thursday prior to Mass from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
