Obituary of Effie A. Thompson

Effie Thompson, 89, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Thornlea, Trinity Bay Newfoundland on July 8, 1933. She was formerly married to the late Fred R. Thompson.

 

Effie worked for several area restaurants, most notably Tosti’s Steakhouse and Liberty Lane. She was very fond of her dogs.

 

Effie is survived by two sons, Andrew Thompson and Michael Thompson (Melissa); four grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Sarah and Hilary; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters; a grandson, Joshua; and daughter-in-law, Judith.

 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
