Kathy and Corin,
Corin, we never met, but I have met your mother and father a couple times at Tim D.'s across the street in the other red brick house.
I always loved watching your mother walk the dog and your father was always busy doing something around the house when he was feeling well.
When I spoke with your parents it was always like I knew the forever. So pleasant to speak with and they always seemed to have a good time.
I can just see your dad in all the scenarios you mentioned, however I had no idea he was so accomplished. I say praise God he had such a wonderful life and he and Kathy had the time together that they did.
I just wish to say to you and your mother you have my deepest, sincerest sympathy and I pray for your strength throughout this very sad time.
My deepest sympathy,
Lynn Davis-Papa

Very sorry to hear of Jay's passing. I fondly remember Jay and Corrie from the Peekskill Presbyterian Church (where I still attend).
Ironically, I purchased property in Osceola a few years back (which is a stones throw from Camden). Condolences to the family and may Jay rest well.

Our adventures began with working in the Geo-Physical dept at Rand McNally…
One project we worked on together was taking photos supplied by NASA, and convert them into 3-d fiberglass models of the moon, and portions of two other planets, that were used in the movie “2001 Space Odyssey” (where we carved our names with dental tools into the soft fiberglass surface)
To numerous, to varied to account; but all significant and special; from being navigator/co-pilot; to finding the perfect burger; learning how to not be a reckless speed demon (me, but that was a fail)
It was after I pursued a career as a cartographer with the military that I fell off planet earth-
But Jay and Kathy had become gold and silver threads in the fabric of my life, and even though we didn’t have contact, I was always aware of their caring.
Tonight I will step out into the Sonora High Desert and lift my glass to the stars, where you now reside…

Certainly Jay was a gentle giant, and he did have the most twinkling blue eyes. My memories are from contact in our Methodist Church in Camden. He wanted to actively contribute but was limited in what he could do. He offered to handle the Pennies For Missions donations, counting, tallying, and rolling the coins. I helped him gather them sometimes and just felt the warmest and most earnest presence. Again, at a game night I enjoyed visiting with him a bit, and only wish I had spent more time. He was so approachable and interesting, but also quiet and seemed almost shy. Surely Jesus lived in Jay's heart. And we miss him now.

I always looked forward to seeing Jay when he would order food from my pizza shop. I enjoyed visiting with him. He always gave the last name of Trump when he ordered. He gave me a Donald Trump coin several years back which was so nice of him. I will treasure it always. I thoroughly enjoyed learning all about him while reading his obituary. What an incredible life. He will be missed.

Jay my cousin, but more than that, he was the big brother I never had, but desperately wanted and needed. I have so many memories of him I can't count them.
One that stands out isn't a specific incident, so much as a long lasting memory spanning several years. When he was younger, Jay built 1/25 scale model cars, and boy was he good at it. He would enter them in contests, where he regularly won major prizes. When I took up the hobby (at about the age of 12), Jay was my mentor, showing me all sorts of tips and tricks to build better models. I never reached his level of expertise, but I had a great time working with him and learning what he knew.
I miss him already. He was truly one of a kind.
