Obituary of Betty J. Redner
Betty J. Redner was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2023. She was born on December 21, 1936 in Malone, NY to Edward and Lillian (Russell) Tebo. She was united in marriage to Leland Redner on August 22, 1954.
Among Betty’s favorite things were crafting, cooking, and garage sales. She was first and foremost a woman of God and provided sanctuary for neighborhood kids in need. She was known for her fiery personality, humor, and unconditional love for her family (including family she adopted as her own).
Betty is survived by her children Diane (Mike) Fountain, Lori Sherman, Dave (Cheri) Redner, and Andrew Redner; sisters Cathy (Steve) Peck and Cindy Tebo; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Leland; sons Leonard, Charles, and Craig; special companion Charles (Tuna) Fountain; son Charles Sherman; brothers Edward (Junior) Tebo, LaVern Tebo, and Roy Tebo; sister Iva Underwood; and grandson Chad Sherman.
A special thanks to sisters Cathy and Cindy; daughters Diane and Lori; son Mike; granddaughter Tiffany Griffin; the nurses at Rome Dialysis Center and the Acacia Masonic Care Community; and Pastor John Nichols and his wife Barbara.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 4-6:00 p.m.
