Obituary of Billye G Petroski

Billye G. Petroski, 75, of Rome, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Rome Health with her loving husband of 43 years, Richard “Dick” by her side after a long illness. She was born in Amarillo, TX, on May 3, 1947, a daughter of the late LT. COL USAF RET. Albert “Ed” and Wlhelmina (Smith) McCloud.

Billye retired from the Rome DMV after working there for 30 years. She was previously employed at Herb Phillipson’s.

Billye was a life member and past President of both the Rome VFW #2246 Ladies Auxiliary and  the CNY chapter of the 82^nd Airborne Div. Association Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lee American Legion Post 1794 and the Frank J. Stezcko PAV.

Surviving besides her husband, Dick, are three daughters, Sara Webber, Beth Petroski and Donna Weaver; four sons, Fred Webber (Sheila), Michael Petroski, Mark Petroski and Jeff Petroski: and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 7^th, at 7:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from 4-7:00 p.m. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery will take place at a later date.
