Obituary of Stanley Washeleski, Jr.
Stanley “Stash” Washeleski, Jr., 86, Coal Hill Rd., Taberg, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, March 20, 2023, at his home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born on October 12, 1936, in Muhlenberg, PA, the son of Stanley and Louise (Kuc) Washeleski, Sr. He was a graduate of Camden Central High School.
On December 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Margaret H. Clark in St. Mary’s Church in Florence.
Stanley was a diamond die maker for thirty plus years at Camden Wire Mill, retiring in 1996. After his retirement, he went to work for Burton’s Livestock in Vernon. It was at this job that he found a job he truly loved. He set up monthly machine auctions and farm auctions for Burton’s and unfortunately had to retire in 2022.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Taberg, the Rome Polish Home, and the Mohican Model A Club. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and UCONN women’s basketball fan. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and helping out his son, Tom, with any projects he might have going on.
Surviving besides his loving wife, Margaret; are two children, Thomas (Wendy) Washeleski, of Taberg, and Ann (Phil Treen) Washeleski, of Cleveland; a precious granddaughter, Emilya Washeleski and Tyler Hoffman, whom Stanley thought of as a grandson; a special friend, Ronald Taylor, of Evans Mills; a nephew, William Hawkins, Jr., a niece, Nancy (Patrick) Come, and William Cole (whom was like a second son to him).
Stanley’s family wishes to express their gratitude to Wendy Armstrong, Della Clark, and Dr. Jennifer Quinn, for the kindness and compassion shown to Stanley. The family will be eternally grateful.
In keeping with Stanley’s wishes, there will be no services or calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Stanley’s memory to the Rome Polish Home or a charity of one’s choice.
