Obituary of Clifford G. Brown

Clifford G. Brown, Jr., 82, of Soule Rd., Rome, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Rome Health Hospital.

He was born on August 19, 1940, in Utica, the son of Clifford G. and Karen Brown, Sr.  Cliff was a 1958 graduate of Utica Free Academy.

In 1986, Cliff met the love of his life, Patricia Potter, while he was working as the maintenance manager at Tuxedo Trailer Park.  He retired in 2001.

Cliff was a “grumpy old man” whom was deeply loved by his family and his dear friend, Al.

Surviving besides his love, Patricia; are a daughter and a son, Mark Brown; two step-daughters, Mary (Carlos) Perez, and Wendy (Thomas) Pett, all of Rome; nine grandchildren, Huyen (Michael), Adrianna (fiancé, Rocky), John, Samantha, Jasmine, Allison, Thomas, Kayla, and Austin; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Cliff was predeceased by a sister, Roberta (Bernard) Buchanan.

Cliff’s family wishes to express their gratitude to his caretaker, Helen Capacceta, for the years of dedicated care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 7 PM at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc.  Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday prior to the service from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, 418 N. George St., Rome.
