So sorry for the loss of a wonderful person. Mr. Lanzi was well liked by his students. I know because I participated in one of his 6th grade classes at Dewitt Clintin school where I talked about my life as a medical technologist. Mr. Lanzi's students had smiles. Mr. Lanzi always had a smile for everyone. Blessings, S. Jane Stephan

Q: How did you meet Anthony?
A: Mr. Lanzi was my 6th grade teacher at Dewitt Clinton grade school - class of 1989. Mr. Lanzi was charismatic, creative, fun, inspiring, and a loving and kind man. Like so many others Mr. Lanzi impacted my life in such a special way... He was kind, creative, inspirational, charming, and taught us to view the world with compassion, shared cultural experiences, encouraged us to pursue our interests, dream big, and love all people. Mr. Lanzi changed my life and will forever hold the most special place in my heart.

To Tony’s Family:
My wife and I are deeply sorry for your loss. Tony was a remarkable teacher and indeed a tremendous asset to the Rome City School District. The multitude of students that he directly influenced benefited greatly from a wealth of experiences under his tutelage. He will be truly missed.
I personally got to know Tony midway through the 1968–69 school year. At that time, I was assigned as a six grade teacher at Lake Delta School. I received a call that I was going to be promoted to principal at Stokes school. I was also informed that my replacement would be a nice young man. That nice young man was Tony, and I had the responsibility of preparing him for his new sixth grade assignment. We had less than a week to prepare, but Tony was a quick and enthusiastic learner, and up to the challenge. The rest of Tony’s career is history!
We know that God will sustain you during this difficult time, knowing that Tony will be resting in the arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ. May God bless all of you and keep you in his care.

Mr. Lanzi was the best teacher I ever had...which is what everyone says who was lucky enough to be in his class. He impacted so many kids and families in such a remarkable way. He was my inspiration and motivation to become an educator...I owe him a great deal of my success to him. There are few who did it better or made more of an impact than Mr. Lanzi. So sad he is gone, but so proud to have been a part of his life.

Mr. Lanzi did not just teach you what you needed to know so you could move on to the next grade in school. He was a teacher of life. Life can be a little easier with respect and love, working hard, believing in yourself and having some fun. A lot of his student grew up with nothing but he made you feel like you had everything. Some of his students felt like a nobody and he made you feel like you were the most important person in the world. He was an inspiration to all he came in contact with.
Until we meet again, take care and watch over us all.
