Obituary of Edna G. Swinney

Edna ''Butch'' Swinney, 80, died February 6, 2023, in Taberg, NY, after a long illness. Edna was born May 5,1942 in Rome, NY, to the late Abey and Edna Morgan.

 

Many will remember her from her days tending bar at the U.S Hotel in Taberg. A gambler at heart; she enjoyed playing lottery tickets, bingo and pitch. Edna also collected elephants for many years.

 

Edna is survived by her husband of 48 years, Thomas; her sons David (Penny) Cornish and Michael Cornish; three brothers, James (Elfriede) Morgan, Charles (Bonnie) Morgan and Thomas Morgan; two grandchildren, Katie and Cody, and one great-grandchild, Chase.

 

She was predeceased by her son, Wayne Cornish; a sister, JoAnne White; and brother; Edwin ''Mike'' Morgan.

 

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
