Obituary of Elmer H. Pitcher

Elmer H. Pitcher, Jr., 75, of Camden, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2022 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY. Born in Ellisburg, NY, on July 18, 1947, he was a son of the late Elmer H. and Elizabeth (Wager) Pitcher, Sr. On February 14, 1970, he was united in marriage to Carol Tanner.

Elmer worked for several area employers including, Camden Wire, the Town of Camden, Sylvan Spring Water Company and Harden Furniture.

He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman. He loved to bowl and was a member of several leagues in Sylvan Beach and Camden through the years. He was also a longtime member of the Sylvan Beach Fire Department.

Surviving besides his wife of 52 years, Carol, are three children, Elmer Pitcher, Chrystina Pitcher and Becky Pitcher; a sister, Shirley Riegler; four brothers, Don Pitcher (Kimberlyn), Tom Eastman, Paul Lawrence and Gary Lawrence; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
