Obituary of Richard J. Pfrimmer
Richard J. Pfrimmer, 62, of Rome, passed away peacefully at MVHS-St. Luke’s on Monday, December 19, 2022. Born in Rome on April 5, 1960, he was a son of Charles and Gertrude (Baynes) Pfrimmer. He graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1979 and earned an Associate’s Degree from Alfred State College.
Richard worked for several area florists in Rome, Utica and Syracuse throughout the years. He had a passion for orchids and kept a greenhouse at his home for many years.
Richard was an artist who specialized in watercolor painting. He was proud to display his various works at Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute and the Rome Art and Community Center. Family and friends always looked forward to receiving his custom cards and paintings for special occasions or for no reason at all.
He is survived by his father, Charles; and his two sisters, Nan K. Pfrimmer and Sandra J. Pfrimmer, both of Rome. He was predeceased by his mother, Gertrude “Trudy” Pfrimmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 1807 Bedford St., Rome, NY 13440. Interment will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Friday prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to Jervis Public Library or Rome Art and Community Center.
