Obituary of Lorna A. Froschauer

Lorna A. Froschauer, 82, of Westmoreland, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 11, 2022. She was born in Rome on June 6, 1940, a daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Sykes) Adey. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and earned a Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY-Oswego. On June 23, 1962, she was united in marriage to Richard Froschauer, Sr. He passed away April 29, 2014.

Lorna was an elementary school teacher for many years, starting with the Rome City School District at Gansevoort School before moving on to a long career teaching in the Westmoreland Central School District. She had a passion for teaching and touched many lives through the years.

Lorna was a member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her three children, Lisa Froschauer, Richard Froschauer, Jr. (Karen) and William Froschauer; three cherished grandchildren, Tyler (Erika), Christopher and Anthony; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Muriel Goggin; and brother, Franklin “Scoop” Adey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 17^th at 10:00 a.m. at the Westmoreland United Methodist Church. Interment will take place in Westmoreland Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 4-6:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440.
