Obituary of James A. Leitao

James A. Leitao, 66, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Rome Health. He was born in Warwick, RI, on May 16, 1956, a son of the late George and Aldea (Desrosiers) Leitao.

James served his country for over 20 years in the United States Air Force. After being Honorably Discharged, he worked for Orion Bus in Oriskany, NY.

He loved football and was a huge New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed playing Lotto Scratch Offs and visiting his friends at the Hideaway Bar in Floyd.

James is survived by his daughter, Amanda Leitao (Cody); three sisters, Lorie, Tina (Roger) and Mary Ann; a brother, Charles Leitao; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
