Obituary of Betty Prevo
Elizabeth “Betty” Prevo passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on November 14th 2022. Born in Rome on November 7th 1934 she was the loving daughter of Arnold and Kathleen McGonigle Baulig. Betty was a life long resident of Rome and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Francis “Hoz” Prevo. She is survived by her daughter Renee Prevo Argentine, son in law Ronald Argentine, son David Prevo, daughter in law Linda Johnson Prevo and her loving sister Kathleen Balog. Grandchildren Bradley, Eric, and Robert Argentine, Caelen and Alex Prevo and great grandchildren Colin and Madison Argentine and Quinn Prevo.
She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1952. Shortly after graduation she began working as a dental assistant for Dr. William Houser at his dental practice in Rome. After her children were born she loved being a stay at home Mom and was a wonderful mother. Betty was active in volunteer work as a member of the Rome Twigs and served as a board member of the Rome home and volunteered at the Rome Hospital in the gift and snack shop. She also loved gatherings at her home and going to dinner with friends and family. She was always the life of the party and liked her food hot and her wine cold. Betty also loved traveling with her family and friends all across the country with trips to Cape Cod, Lake Placid, lake Tahoe, Hilton Head and many special trips to the family camp at Black Lake. She will be missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 22nd from 4-6pm at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, 418 N. George Street, Rome. A mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday November 23rd at 11am at St. Peters Church, 200 N. James St, Rome.
