Obituary of Chris B. Hansen

Chris B. Hansen, 74, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at St. Luke’s Healthcare in Utica. Born in Utica on January 12, 1948, he was a son of the late Bernard and Mary Ellen (Marshall) Hansen. He went to Proctor High School and received an Associates Degree in welding from Mohawk Valley Community College. On September 6, 1969, he was united in marriage to Sharon Utter.

Chris was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for 28 years at Griffis Air Force Base as a sheet metal mechanic, retiring in 2007.

Chris was a member of St. Peter’s Church, the Holland Patent VFW and served as a Scout Master for Troop 56 in Floyd for many years.

Surviving besides his loving wife, Sharon, is a daughter, Shaune Hansen Cimo (Stephen); two sons, Daniel Hansen (Cathy) and Stephen Hansen (Amy); a grandson, Joseph Alexander Hansen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Paula Bailey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 17^th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 200 N. James St., Rome, NY 13440. Family and friends are invited to call at the church on Thursday prior to mass from 10-11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Chris’s name to the St. Peter’s Church Restoration Fund or the Floyd  Fire Department.
