Obituary of Donna M Shephard

Donna M. Shephard, 78, of Rome, passed away on Thursday morning, October 27, 2022, at her home with her loving family at her side.

She was born on August 24, 1944, in Rome, the daughter of Stuart and Pearl (Worden) Armstrong.  She was a 1962 graduate of Rome Free Academy.

On February 8, 1964, Donna was united in marriage to David G. Shephard.  He passed away on January 31, 2018.

Donna was a developmental support aide 2 for the CNYDDSO for over twenty-five years before her retirement.

She loved going on vacation to the beach, she didn’t care which beach as long as there was sand and water.  Her greatest joy was having cookouts and Sunday dinners at her home where she could provide a good meal for her family and spend time catching up with them.  She was a huge Elvis fan.

Surviving are her children, Tammy House, of Sylvan Beach, Scott and Mary Shephard, of Blossvale, and Bryan Shephard, of Rome; her three sisters, Patricia Hocker, of Lewes, DE, Lois Nobis, of Taberg, and Sydel (Raymond) Smith, Sr., of Taberg; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Armstrong, and Marlene Armstrong; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Brian House; two brothers, Robert Armstrong, and Ronald Armstrong; and three sisters, Eileen (Roger) Millson, Janice (Ted) Barnum, and Sondra (Bill) Forier.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 5:00 PM at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc.  Family and friends are invited and may call on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the service, 418 N. George St., Rome.
