Obituary of Stanley N. Hrim

Stanley N. Hrim, 92, of Rome, passed away peacefully at Bethany Gardens on Wednesday, October 6, 2022. Born in Boonville on May 18, 1930, he was a son of the late Daniel and Rose Hrim. On April 21, 1951, he was united in marriage to Sara Clark, a wonderful union of 67 years until her passing February 2, 2019.

Stan worked for the NYS Thruway for two years before owning and operating Stan’s Mobile Service for several years. He later worked for Rite Aid and the NYS Armory before retiring.

He drove the #52 racecar at Utica-Rome Speedway in the 1960s and was a  member of Elks Lodge #2158 of Boonville, Rome Moose Club and the Ukrainian Club.

Stan is survived by three children, Rose Sasenbury (Bill), Sandra Irish (Robert) and David Hrim (Sue); two sisters, Elizabeth Reilly (Tom) and Florence Washburn; seven grandchildren, Lisa Castelluzzo (Paul), Joe Colangelo (Dawn), late Michael Hrim who predeceased him (Vinnie), Brian Hrim (Kayla), Stacey Yager (Brian), Joe Sciorilli Jr. (Crystal) and Anthony Sciorilli; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Pauline Houtenbrink; and two brothers, Daniel Hrim, Jr. and John Hrim.

Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, NY 13440, on Wednesday, October 12th from 2-4:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m.
