Obituary of Timothy R. O'Connell

Timothy R. O’Connell, age 64, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

 

He was born on November 3, 1957, in Rome, NY to Ralph and Irmgard O’Connell and graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1975. Tim had a successful career in sales for over 30 years and retired from Pacemaker Steel & Piping Company in Utica, NY. He lived in Rome, NY his entire life and was known for being an avid golfer along with his love of NASCAR, the NY Jets and the NY Yankees. 

 

Surviving are his two children: Ryan (Jessica) O’Connell, of Danville, VA and Amanda O’Connell, of Liverpool, NY; the mother of his children: Anna Giannico-Testa; 6 grandchildren: Caitlyn, Connor, Collin, Caroline, Catherine, and Harper; two brothers: Kevin (Joyce) O’Connell and Scott (Susan) O’Connell; 7 nieces and nephews: Eric (Sarah) O’Connell, Michael (Christine) O’Connell, Kelly (Fraser) O’Connell-Mackay, and Erin O’Connell; and 4 great nieces and great nephews: Donovan, Mitchell, Rey, and Nora. He was predeceased by his father in 1997 and his mother in 2016. 

 

The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Upstate Community General for their care and compassion. There will be no calling hours. A private service with internment will be held at a later date for the family.
