Obituary of Jennifer A. Harris

Jennifer A. Harris, 50, of Rome, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her own home. She was born in Rome, NY, on March 11, 1972, a daughter of James Sr. and Christine (Henderson) Harris. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and Wilma Boyd Career School in Pittsburgh, PA. Jennifer was most recently a travel agent with CWT of Minnetonka, MN., where she traveled extensively.

Jennifer loved her visits to Amsterdam and Italy and time spent with family at camp on the St. Lawrence River.

She is survived by her mother, Christine Harris; two cherished children, Aidan and Sophie Curry; the father of her children, Gregory Curry; two sisters, Melinda Falcone (Robert) and Michele Harris (Bob); brother, Jim Harris (Linda); several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, as well as her four cats. She was predeceased by her father, James Harris, Sr.

Jennifer’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Drs. Amita and Atul Butala, the Faxton Cancer Center and Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful care and compassion. They would also like to thank the Rome Fire Department Benevolent Fund, the Kevin Uvanni Foundation and those who setup and donated to her gofundme page, for their generosity.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In keeping with Jennifer’s wishes, there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jennifer’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413, Rome Fire Department Benevolent Fund or the Kevin Uvanni Foundation.
