Obituary of Sarah E. Healy

Sarah E. “Sally” Healy, 96, of Williamstown, passed away in the comfort of her own home on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family. Sally was born SaraH Elizabeth Willson, daughter of the late Beriah and Sadie (McCaffrey) Willson, on April 1, 1926, Annsville, NY.

As the youngest senior, she graduated from Camden High School in 1942. Her first job was at Farnsworth Printing Company earning $12 a week. During her lifetime, Sally worked in the electronic field of Autometric Honeywell, Control Data and then retired after 21 years from Raytheon Corp. as an executive secretary.

In 1946, she married Edward J. Healy, Sr. They were married for 53 years until his passing on St. Patrick’s Day 2000. Sally was a devoted mother to her four children:  Patricia (Carl) Ross of Florida, Edward (Amy) Healy, Jr. of Williamstown, Mary (Kenneth) Kimmel of Blossvale and Dorothy (Roger) Poindexter-Widay of Cleveland, NY. She has ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews whom she cherished.

Sally was a member of St. John’s Evangelist Church, St. Mary’s Rosary Society, Williamstown Senior Citizens Group and a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.

Sally was predeceased by her husband, Ed; her parents, Beriah and Sadie; two brothers, Beriah “Ted” Willson and Henry Willson; and two sisters, Dorothy Waterman and Mary Pazdur; two sisters-in-law, Helen Willson and Eileen Willson; two brothers-in-law, Richard Waterman and Joseph Pazdur; a niece, Carol Meyers; and nephew, Paul Willson.

Sally was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother. Her passion and devotion was for her family, friends, her home , watching the NY Yankees and Lawrence Welk and listening to Alan Jackson.  She was loved by so many and will be missed by even more. Her generous spirit, compassion and kind heart will be carried on in the lives whom she has touched. Sally will be remembered for her famous quotes and stories, her enthusiastic laughter and most of all, her unforgettable, never-ending smile.

Sally’s family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to all who supported Sally.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Evangelist Church, 35 3rd St., Camden, NY 13316. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in Williamstown. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 9464 State Rt. 13, Camden, NY, 13316, on Tuesday, September 6th from 4-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sally’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford NY 13413.
