Obituary of Joan A. Senior

Joan A. Senior, 69, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. She was born in Rome on September, 14, 1953, a daughter of George and Nellie (Ward) Smith. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and in November 1973 she was united in marriage to Joseph Senior. He passed away August 5, 2005.

Joan worked at Con Med in New Hartford for many years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Joan is survived by a daughter, Mary Evans (Frederick); a son , Joseph Senior, II; three sisters, Janet Stewart (William), Patricia Burk (Steven) and Deborah Shanley (William); two brothers, John  Smith (Shirley) and Raymond Smith (Sydell); and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Barbara Smith, Mary Lou Wilson and her twin sister, June Senior.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
