Obituary of Mildred A. Hatch

Mildred A. (Phetterplace) Hatch, 87, of Westernville, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at The Grand of Rome. Born in Florence, NY, on July 16, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Harrnacker) Phetterplace. She was a 1954 graduate of Rome Free Academy and on September 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to William Hatch. He passed away in 2019.

Mildred was employed and retired from Rome Hospital after a long career.

She was a loyal fan and friend of NASCAR legend Richie Evans. Mildred ran the Richie Evans Fan Club for many years.

Mildred is survived by a sister, and Charlott Malouf; a brother, Charles “Jake” Phetterplace; special friend and longtime neighbor, Nita Cole; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Hall; and three brothers, Lyle, Kenneth and Robert Phetterplace.

Millie’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Grand for their wonderful care and compassion, including Ianna, Gigi, Jessica, Tonya, Maria and Joyce at the front desk.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Westernville Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
